Dovie Violet Heath 83 of Dumas, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger, TX, with Bryan Gary, pastor of 9th and Bliss Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Violet was born December 13, 1927 in Ranger TX to John and Cora Atkins Gipson. She was united in marriage to Alvis Heath on December 7, 1968 in Borger TX, he preceded her in death. Violet loved to do handwork and was excellent at embroidery. Her favorite past time was making blankets for all of her great grandchildren. She had just recently finished the last one for her most recent great grandbaby. In addition to her husband, Violet was preceded in death by two brothers, Oran and Johnny Gipson, and a sister Ethel Earls. She is survived by a son Cecil Gipson and wife Sabrina of Dumas a brother Harrison Edward Gipson of Alvin TX grandchildren Jeremy Dean Gipson and wife Amy of Fritch, Farrah Armstrong and husband Chris of Fritch, and Jarod Gipson and wife Heather of Dumas and eleven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Memorial Nursing and Rehab, 302 E 2nd, Dumas TX 79029.
