Edith Clydene Connie Maxwell 77 of Amarillo, Texas passed away Monday, January 29, 2007 in Dumas, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 12, 2007 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Beth Harrington, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Mrs. Maxwell was born December 24, 1929 in Hedley, Texas. She was a homemaker and loved by her family and friends. She was Mimi to nine grandchildren and Gigi to fifteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her daughter, LaDona Wood; grandson, Brian Oliver and brother, Leonard Carnes. Survivors include: son, Rev. Douglas E. Wood and wife, Guyann of Belton, TX., two daughters, Sherri Robertson and husband, John of Elgin, OK. and Bonita Oliver and husband, Joel of St. Louis, MO.; two sisters, Mildred Miller and husband, Bud of Boerne, TX., Peggy Hill of Amarillo, TX.; four brothers, A.B.Carnes, Ronnie Carnes, Jimmy Carnes all of Amarillo, TX., Terry Carnes of Seattle, WA. and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1833, Merrifield, VA.22116-8033.
