Edna Irene Jordan

Edna Irene Jordan, 93, of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Funeral services will be held at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 3 oclock in the afternoon with Pastor Jared Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Edna was born September 4, 1926 in Quanah, TX to Henry and Ettie (Ritchie) Scroggins. As a child, Edna spent many hours helping her parents work in the cotton fields. Then in 1943 she met and married her husband Wilmer Jordan and they would settle in Dumas, TX where they raised their family. After 43 blissful years, he preceded her in death in 1990. Edna was a wonderful cook and excellent mother who always had time for her family. She collected various salt and pepper shakes that her family would bring to her. Edna was a devout Christian and loved her lord. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a very close and loving relationship with her entire family to include everyone from her brothers and sisters down to her great- great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Wilmer; a daughter: Linda Asberry in 2002; son: Dennis in 2009; brothers: Ernest, Clyde, and J.L. Scroggins; sisters: Eunice Faye Holly, Vonnie Jordan, Charles Etta Hendrix, Joyce Stephenson and a great-great-grandson: Daylen OGorman. Edna is survived by a daughter: Francis VerWay and husband Ole of Dumas; sister: Vivian Sisco of Carson CA; granddaughters: Kristi OGorman and husband John of Stinnett, TX, Becky Martin of Austin, TX and Tonya Roberts of Amarillo, TX; grandsons: Scott Asberry of Abilene, TX, Shane Roberts and wife Dawn of Colorado Springs, CO; and her great-grandchildren: Justin, Jarod, Jason, Jeremy and Jasmine OGorman, Allie and Zac Roberts, Daniel Kehr, Blake Martin Jr., Kellie Collier, Anna and Macie Martin, Cassi Burks and Taeler Cortese, Brecklyn O'Gorman.
