Edna Zelma Scarborough, 92 formerly of Dumas, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Seth Seale officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.Edna was born on March 24, 1929, in Estelline, Texas to R.E. and Beulah (Gilbert) Lilly. She married Leo Scarborough on August 5, 1947, in Ladonia, TX; he preceded her in death in 1987. The couple later moved to Dumas where they raised their son, made their home, and attended Bible Baptist Church. She was very devoted to her family and always managed to attend all her son’s and grandchildren’s events all over Texas. After graduating high school and raising her family, Edna continued her education. She received her LVN license in 1970. After serving many many years at the Moore County Hospital she retired from nursing. Edna always had a good joke and also enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, ceramics, cooking, and traveling. She also had time to always have an exceptional yard. Edna will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.In addition to her husband, Leo, she was preceded in death by her son: Jimmy Scarborough; siblings: Gladys, H.L., Melba, James, and 2 other siblings in infancy.Edna is survived by her daughter-in-law: Cindy Scarborough of Canyon, TX; grandchildren: Erik Scarborough and wife Natasha of Amarillo, TX, Sheena Kelly and husband Jeremiah of Amarillo, TX; great-grandchildren: Deegan, Iain, Zander, and Titus.
