Edward “Wayne” Jones, 79 of Dumas passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Matt Matzke, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Wayne will be available for viewing on Friday from 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock in the evening and Saturday from 12 o'clock to 8 o'clock at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Wayne was born on September 8, 1944, in Amarillo, TX to Rager and Geneva (Aylesworth) Jones. He grew up in Dumas where he graduated from Dumas High School. Wayne served in the United States Army as a track mechanic from 1966 to 1968 in Ft. Carson. Wayne absolutely loved farming and the smell of freshly plowed ground. He also enjoyed buying lottery tickets. Wayne was of Christian faith and will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Stephanie Gae Jones; and brother: Louis Jones.

Wayne is survived by his daughter: Christie Jones of Farmington, NM; son: Brandon Jones and wife Amanda of Dumas, TX; brother: Gene Jones of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren: Wyatt Lay and wife Isabel and Emma Jones; great-grandchild: Gabriel Lay.
