Elida Moreno

Elida Moreno, 81 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012. The Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church in Dumas. The Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church, with Father Maria Joseph Pudhota as celebrant. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Elida was born on September 23, 1930 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Eliseo and Rafaela Leal Garza. She has been a resident of the Dumas community for fiftyeight years. She was a member of Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church. Elida was a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was very active in the community and her church. She was a devout Catholic and loved to sing at church. She was also an active Crusillista. Elida was a very caring and giving lady and was loved by all who knew her. She knew no strangers. She was a great cook, and she loved to cook for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eliseo and Rafaela Garza her brother, Eliseo Garza Jr. one sister, Enedina Almaguer her daughter, Olga Gallegos and a nephew, Jesus Ibarra. Elida is survived by three daughters, Imelda Maldonado and husband JR of Dumas, Elida Gutierrez and husband Guadalupe of Amarillo, and Elvira Arenivar and husband Alfredo of Houston one sister, Enedelia Melendez of Dumas one nephew, Fernando Hernandez of Dumas sixteen grandchildren thirtysix greatgrandchildren and numerous other extended family members. The family suggest memorials be to Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church, P. O. Box 503, Dumas, TX 791029. The family will be at 1300 NE 2nd in Dumas.
