Elizabeth Sophia Chavez

Elizabeth Sophia Chavez, 56 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Elizabeth was born on July 30, 1964, to Julian and Dorothea (Bird) Chavez in Raton, NM. She worked for The Texas Department of Human Resources for several years then moved over to Child Protective Services. She attended Amarillo College and West Texas A&M where she received her bachelor’s degree. Children meant everything to Elizabeth; she loved to help those in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.She was preceded in death by her father; sister-in-law: Meleda Chavez; niece: Patiance Chavez.Elizabeth is survived by her husband Rodolfo Trevino, of the home; mother: Dorothy Chavez of Dumas, TX; brother: Gilbert Chavez; stepsons: Rodolfo Renee Trevino, III of Lubbock, TX and Rick Trevino of Austin, TX; nieces: Destiny and Tianka Chavez both of Dumas, TX; great niece: Melody Chavez of Dumas, TX.
