Elpidio Salgado, Jr., 34, of Sunray, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006, in Amarillo. Rosary will be held Friday, September 8, 2006, at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cactus. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 9, 2006, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Celebrants Fr. Dionicio Cruz and Fr. Ron Mathews, officiating. Burial will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Salgado was born December 13, 1971 in Chicago, IL, to Lucila Romero and Elpidio Salgado, Sr. On August 25, 2006, he married Maria Parra in Sunray. He was a supervisor at Swift and a Catholic. Survivors include: his wife, Maria, of the home; two sons, Elpidio Salgado III and Luis Angel Salgado and two daughters, Margarita Salgado and Erika Salgado all of Dumas, from a previous marriage; two brothers, Pomposo Diaz, Jr. of Cactus and Arturo Diaz of Scottsdale, AZ; three sisters, Rosabla Salgado Baca of Amarillo, Marie Hernandez of Chicago, IL and Juanita Luna of Wilcox, AZ; grandmother, Elena Romero of Laredo, TX and his mother and step-father, Lucila Lucy and Pomposo Diaz, Sr. of Cactus.
