Elvidia 'Vigie' Torres Ward, 63 of Dumas passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, April 22, 2016 at First Assembly of God with Rev. Damon Akins, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. A Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 o'clock in the evening at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Vigie was born on March 28, 1953 in Uvalde, TX to Francisco A. Torres and Concepcion 'Lolina' (Garcia) Torres. On June 29, 1994, she married George Ward in Clovis, NM. Vigie was a faithful member of First Assembly of God. She loved to praise and worship, read the Bible, sing, and listen to Christian music. Vigie was a devoted homemaker. Her family was very important to her; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vigie was a pillar of strength to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents: a sister: Dianita G. Torres and a brother: Enrique G. Torres.
Vigie is survived by her husband, George Ward of the home; daughter: Audrey 'Nadine' Cumplido and husband Mario S. of Dumas; sons: Aurelio Omar Villarreal II and wife Raquel of Dumas and Fidencio 'Frank' Villarreal and wife Veronica of Lindale; her brothers and sisters: Francisco G. Torress, III, Diana Angelina T. Salinas, Harvey G. Torres, Ricardo G. Torres, Eduardo G. Torres, Olga T. Joslin, Elia Mireya G. Torres; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
