Eula Mae Wehunt

June 20, 1927 — January 22, 2025

Dumas

Eula Mae Wehunt, 97, of Dumas passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 with family and friends around her. Funeral services will be at 10:00 in the morning, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Kevin Anderson, Pastor of Stratford Assembly of God Church officiating, assisted by Rev. Damon Akins, and Rev. Kevin Akins. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday. Arrangements are under direction of Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors.

Eula Mae was born on June 20, 1927, in Kinta, OK to Vinnie and Allie (Groover) Norvell. She grew up in Kinta and graduated from Kinta High School. She married Arthur Wehunt on August 14,1950 in Kinta Ok, and they moved to Dumas in 1953. Eula Mae was a homemaker, she enjoyed her garden, and cooking for her family. Her family always wanted her to cook pork chops, cherry cobbler, and coconut cream pie.

Eula Mae was a devout Christian and faithfully served her Lord. She had attended First Assembly of God Church in Dumas for 72 years, where she was very active in all church activities up until the day she suffered a stroke in October. She was the Women's Ministries assistant coordinator for 37 years. She was in charge of the Tuesday morning quilting ministry. She sewed together thousands of quilt blocks to make quilts for missionaries. The Tuesday morning quilting ministry would tack and hem quilts. She would lay quilt blocks on her living room floor and crawl around pinning them together. You always had to be careful walking barefoot in her living room to avoid getting a straight pin in your foot.

Eula Mae was an awesome Grandma and Great Grandma, she loved spending time with all of them and would do anything to help them have a good time. When they were small, she sat in a rocking chair for hours and read to them. Her biggest goal was to see every member of her family saved, attending church, and preparing themselves for heaven.

Eula Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur, sisters Mavis Cooper, Mary Jo Kasiner, Maud Evett, Mildred Evett, Myrtle Whitehead. Brothers, Groover (Bud) Norvell, George Norvell, and Garland (Doc) Norvell.

She is survived by her son Weldon Wehunt and wife Renae of Dumas, Texas. Grandchildren Marla Debons and husband Joe of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, Justin Wehunt and wife Trista of Cordell, Oklahoma. Great Grandchildren Isaiah Ramirez of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, Kilie, Raygan, Isaac, and Lexi of Cordell, Oklahoma. Nieces Connie Kasiner and husband Ken of Kinta, Oklahoma, Mary Lee Pfennighausen of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Barbara Searle and son Kendel Wibbing of Lubbock, Texas, Sue and husband Rod Hughes of Kesterson, California. Nephews Kenneth Whitehead and wife Glenda of Kinta, Oklahoma and Jim Kasiner of Stigler, Oklahoma, Gary and wife Gina of Crain, Texas and many other friends and family members.
