Euva Mae Slaton

July 8, 1923 — December 14, 2008

Euva Mae Slaton, 85, formerly of Dumas, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 in Amarillo. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Ulrey pastor of First Baptist Church, CactusEtter officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Euva Mae, known as Mae or Mae Mae was born July 8, 1923 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Daisy and William Bynum. On January 5, 1942 she married Garland Day Slaton. The family moved to Masterson where Garland worked for Colorado Interstate Gas Company. From there they moved to Fritch where they loved their church friends and enjoyed their granddaughters, Amy and Angie. After retirement Garland and Mae hit the road playing golf in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona. Garland passed away February 4, 1991 and Mae moved to Amarillo. She made many friends, brought many smiles and was loved by everyone. Survivors include; son, Bill Slaton and wife, Judy of Pagosa Springs, Colo; granddaughters, Amy Wright and husband, Glenn of Grapevine and Angie Ball and husband, Robert of Amarillo; sister, Renie Chapman and husband, Rev. Bob of Denton; great-grandchildren, Emily and Sawyer Slaton and Wright and Joshua Ball; sister-in-law, Izetta Bynum of Tucson, Ariz and several nieces and nephews.
