Everette James 'Jim' Brewster, 95 formerly of Dumas, passed on to the Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Broken Arrow, OK. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Jonathan Zerby, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Jim was born November 3, 1921 in Richwood, West Virginia; the youngest of 13 children. He was a veteran of World War II. He served in Patton's 3rd Army in liberating Europe and was at the Battle of the Bulge. Just after the War, he came to Moore County, Texas, where he met and wooed the love of his life, Jackie McClary. They married and moved to Amarillo, where Jim took an accounting job with what was to become Mobil Oil Company. In 1960, he was transferred to the Dallas area where he worked for Mobil over 32 years. During this time, they made Irving their home for 28 years.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Jackie McClary Brewster.
He is survived by sons: Richard and Warren; grandchildren Jack and Jamie Brewster, Paul Brewster and Rebecca Blaine; and one: great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Blaine.
