Fairy Elizabeth Ritchie Chidester Moore

Fairy Elizabeth Ritchie Chidester Moore, 82 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Dumas Cemetery. Deacon Joe Schwertner of Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church will be officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Fairy was born on April 10, 1929 in Brookston, Texas to Steven and Betty Farmer Ritchie. She graduated from Paris High School. She was united in marriage to C.W. Chidester, and to this union, three children were born. He preceded her in death. She later was united in marriage to Gerald Moore, who preceded her in death also. Fairy had been a resident of the Dumas community for over fiftysix years. She retired from First National Bank after twentysix years of employment. She was a member of Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church. Fairy was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was fun loving, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a very talented seamstress, and enjoyed sewing and crocheting various projects. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by husbands, C. W. Chidester and Gerald Moore, one daughter, Suzanne Johnson in 2011, and one granddaughter, Jodi Elizabeth Thurman. Fairy is survived by two daughters, Jeannie Euthon and husband Andy of Dumas and Jodi Potts and husband Dave of Amarillo one sister, Gladys Burns of Paris, TX seven grandchildren, Senator Jack Johnson of Franklin, TN, Jinay Read of Quanah, Jessica Lindsey of San Antonio, Shannon Tipton of Austin, Jason Thurman of Lubbock, Cari Anne Whitehead of San Antonio, and Michael Herndon of Amarillo thirteen great grandchildren and two greatgreat grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 403 Pear, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 1000 Bennett in Dumas.
