Faye Williams, 86, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, July 19, at Hartley Christian Fellowship with Rev. Bobby Medford, pastor of the church and Rev. John Will Bookout, retired minister officiating. Burial will be in Hartley Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, July 18, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Faye was born April 21, 1924 in Mobile, Alabama to Miles Schafter and Edith Sims. On May 30, 1943 she married John E. Williams Sr. at Hartley. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2009. Faye was a homemaker and a dedicated grandmother who loved to go camping, cook for everyone and crochet for her family. She will be missed by her family and friends. She had been a resident of Hartley all of her life and was a member of Hartley Christian Fellowship. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, M.B. Sims, David Sims and June Sims and her daughter, Mickey Nobles on July 22, 2007. Survivors include sons, Johnny Williams and wife, Jelene of Hartley, Stan Williams and wife, Diane of Fritch daughter, Becky Brown and husband, Curtis of Hartley greatgrandson, Brett Chambers of Hartley brother, Ray Sims of Amarillo sisters, Gwen Lockhart of Dalhart, Nora Reed of Sunray, Betty Yeager of Fritch and Judy Cosper Kirk of Odessa grandchildren, Shannon, Judy, Stephanie, Brandon, Jody, Brandt, Jason, Jennie, Joey and Travis and 23 greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hartley Fire Dept. and EMS, PO Box 32, Hartley, TX 79044. The family will be at 822 8th St. in Hartley.
