Felix Moises Garcia, 67 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012. The Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Deacon Joe Schwertner of Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church will be officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Felix was born on May 4, 1945 in Clayton, New Mexico to Felix and Senaida Romero Garcia. He honorably served his country in the US Army National Guard for eight years. Felix was united in marriage to Irene Archuleta on August 16, 1965 in Clayton. They have shared their life together in the Dumas community since 1966. Felix worked as a meter technician for Maxus Energy. He was a member of Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church.
Felix was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a very active member of the community. He taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles. Felix enjoyed crossword puzzles in his spare time, and was an avid reader. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Sanaida Garcia, and two brothers.
Felix leaves behind his wife, Irene of the home two sons, Freddy Garcia and partner Stacy David, and Tom Garcia and wife Brandi, all of Amarillo two grandchildren, Zoey and Zakkary Garcia, both of Amarillo one brother, Alfonso Garcia and wife Jerri of Guymon, OK one sister, Cecilia Sanchez and husband Steve of Clayton, NM numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimers Association, 2200 W. 7th Street, Amarillo, TX 79109 or the American Cancer Society, 403 Pear, Dumas, TX 79029.
The family will be at 119 Pine in Dumas.
