Fern Stidham

Fern Stidham, 84, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 20, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Fern was born February 3, 1926 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Clint and Clela Powell. On May 20, 1944 she married James Stidham in Mangum, Oklahoma. She was a bookkeeper at First State Bank and North Plains Savings and Loan for many years. She was an artist who excelled in painting porcelain china. Fern had been a resident of Dumas since 1959 and had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1962. She was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Yoder and her soninlaw, George Lewis. Survivors include her husband James daughters, Linda Pope and husband Gene and Paula Lewis all of Dumas her sister, Melba Johnson and husband Eddie of College Station grandchildren, Kirk Pope and wife, Cindy of Dumas, Kerri Weaver and husband, Jeff of Elkart, KS, and Jamie Kammer and husband, Karl of Overland Park, KS. and 8 greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Moore County Senior Center, PO Box 2114, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 403 Floyd in Dumas.
