Forrest Dale Acker passed away suddenly on January 20, 2022 at the age of 67, in his home in Stratford, TX. He was born on November 9, 1954 to Allin “Shorty” and Wanda Acker in Rotan, TX. After graduating from high school in Dalhart, TX, he attended Clarendon Junior College where he received his Associates in Ranch Management. Forrest enjoyed roping and riding in the Pony Express in the earlier days of XIT. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dianna McKinney; and one grandson, Korbyn Hensley.
Survivors include Brenda Acker of Stratford, Tx; two daughters, Shannon Hensley of Panhandle, Texas and Jordon Shyanne Acker and fiancée Britnee Bloschichak of New York City; one son, Clayton Acker and partner Nichole Stephens of Fritch, Texas; two grandchildren, Brody Hensley of Panhandle, Tx and Lorelei Acker of Fritch, Tx; a brother, Gary Acker and wife, Annette of Bronte, Tx; two sisters, Carol Boyd and husband Brad of Roby, Tx; Lisa Gomez of Snyder, Tx; one brother-in-law, Monte McKinney of Rotan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
The family will be hosting a viewing at Morrison Funeral Home in Stratford on Wednesday January 26th at 5 pm, and he will be buried in Sardis Cemetery near Rotan, Tx on Thursday January 27th at 3 pm.
