Frank Daves, 95, of Clayton, NM, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church officiating, assisted by Charles Anderson. Interment will follow at North Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Frank was born June 21, 1921 in Union County, NM, to Bob and Pearl (Ford) Daves. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. After the service, Frank worked for Diamond Shamrock in Dumas for many years where he retired to his great love of ranching. Frank was a member of the local VFW and he loved, fishing and dancing. He made everyone he met feel special. Frank married Verna Carter June 28, 1947, in Clayton; she preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife Verna, he was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Floyd Daves and sister: Lois Webb.
Frank leaves behind sister: Billie Dupue of Clayton; daughter: Donna Harris and husband Johnny of Dumas: son; Bill Daves and wife Denise of Clayton; daughter: Patsy Milligan and husband Carey of Dumas; sister-in-law: Vanita Daves of Clayton; granddaughters: Regina DiMarco and husband Jimmy of Dumas, Tonya Petty of California and Mandy Randolph of Dumas; grandson: Matt Daves and wife Meg of Roundrock TX; granddaughters: Kara Milligan of Dumas, Shanda West and husband Aaron of Bushland, and Krista Bittner and husband Matt of Dumas; 13 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
