Frank C. Sartain, 85 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas. Sam White, pastor of North Plains Christian Church in Dumas will be officiating. There will be a family visitation at Morrison Funeral Directors in Dumas from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Frank was born on April 15, 1926 in Mt. Dora, New Mexico to William and Laura Sartain. He graduated from Clayton, NM High School and went on to serve his country in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Jelena Jackson on March 2, 1952 in Clayton. They shared their life together in Dumas since 1959. Frank worked in radio communications, and was employed by Colorado Interstate Gas Company for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Christian faith.
Frank owned and operated his own TV and radio repair shop. He was very talented, and loved woodworking projects. He loved his family deeply, and really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Frank enjoyed fishing trips to Colorado and watching Texas Rangers Baseball. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ten of his brothers and sisters.
Frank is survived by his wife, Jelena of the home two sons, Robbie Sartain and wife Kim of Midland, Michigan, and Mark Sartain and wife Darla of Dumas one daughter, Sherri Lackey and husband Tom of Duncanville, TX two brothers, Earl Sartain of Swanson, IL, and Jimmy Sartain and wife Ann of Amarillo two sisters, Mae Mansfield of Wichita Falls, TX, and Mildred Hamilton of Clovis, NM seven grandchildren, Hayden Lackey of Ft. Worth, Seth Lackey of Duncanville, TX, Marcus Sartain and wife Raquel of Dumas, Melissa Sartain of Dallas, Teryn Lackey of Euless, TX, Kevin Sartain of Dumas, and Emily Sartain of Midland, MI and two great grandchildren, Xzavian Sartain and Xzayden Sartain of Dumas.
The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Nursing Rehabilitation, 302 E. 2nd, Dumas TX 79029 Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029, or to a favorite charity.
The family will be at 121 Cherry in Dumas.
