George Henry

George “Bud” Henry, 88 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Watson, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dumas Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Bud was born on July 30, 1934, in Robertstown, GA to Grover and Gladys (Byers) Henry. He came to Dumas to visit his brother and met Barbara Starkey, they were married on June 14, 1956 in Dumas. Bud worked for Dumas Co-Op for over 48 years. His favorite pastime was watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and doing word puzzles. Above all, Bud loved his wife and family dearly. Bud was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara of the home; special niece: Lori Oliver of Amarillo, TX; special nephew: Ronnie Hisel of Grapevine, TX; nieces: Carolyn Long of Dumas, TX, Debbie Harper of Dumas, TX.
