George Albert Jobe, Jr. 67 of Dumas passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Johnny Widener, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
George was born on October 25, 1957, in Amarillo, TX to George Albert, Sr. and Pearline (Stavenhagen) Jobe. He grew up in New Mexico and Colorado but eventually moved to Dumas in 1974 and graduated from Dumas High School in 1976. He married Joellen Jones on December 23, 1976, in Dumas, TX. George worked for Van Beek Trucking for many years. He loved children and enjoyed coaching the Special Olympics with his wife. He loved his family, church family and his Savior with all his heart. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church where he also drove the bus. He enjoyed Mexican food, especially guacamole and always had time for another round of dominos.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Tammy Fraser.
George is survived by his wife Joellen Jobe of the home; daughter: Georgia Lee of Amarillo, TX; son: Joel Jobe and wife Candace of Ft. Scott, KS; brothers: Johnny Jobe and wife Nancy of Chama, NM, Danny Jobe and wife Tonya of San Angelo, TX; sister: Cindy Jones and husband Wesley of Grady, NM.
