Duane Milbern, 84, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 28, at First Christian Church with Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery with flag detail by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Duane was born July 27, 1926 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Clarence and Thelma Milbern. He served in the US Navy during WWII. On February 21, 1946 he married Mary Lou Brown in Dumas. She preceded him in death in August 2003. He worked 23 years for American Zinc before its closing. He retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1986 where he had worked for 14 years. Duane had been a resident of Dumas since 1944 and was a member of First Christian Church.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Tommy Milbern, soninlaw, John, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and an infant granddaughter.
Survivors include his daughter, Carol Ann Villnave of Borger daughterinlaw, Sandra Milbern of Boise City, Okla sister, Joyce Vinson of Montgomery Al 6 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to First Christian Church, PO Box 971, Dumas, TX. 79029.
