Gerardo "G" Hernandez, 30 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating and Charles Anderson, associate pastor of Temple Baptist Church, assisting. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Gerardo was born February 9, 1985, in Mexico to Gerardo and Ana Maria (Rivera) Hernandez. On July 24, 2004, he married Micah Cox in Dumas. He had worked as a First Class Pipefitter for Valero. Gerardo enjoyed playing softball and was an avid Longhorn's Fan. Family was very important to Gerardo, he was a very loving and devoted father; he adored his children. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother.
Gerardo is survived by his wife Micah of the home; his daughters: Mya, Hannah, and Kaimi all of the home; his parents: Gerardo and Ana Hernandez; three brothers: Jaime Hernandez and wife Veronica of Sunray, Fernando Hernandez and wife Yessenia of Dumas, Alfredo Hernandez of Cactus; sister: Alejandra Ledezma and husband Jesus of Dumas; grandfather: Catarino Hernandez of Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
The family suggests memorials be to Suicide and Crisis Center, 1501 S Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
