Glen Erwin Lackey, 64 of, Dumas passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 1:30 in the afternoon on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Sunray Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Houston and Pastor Seth Seale, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Glen was born on August 21, 1956 in Dumas, TX to Gerald Erwin and Daphne Ann (Byrd) Lackey. Glen had a love for sports. His favorite professional team was the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved watching the Sunray Bobcats, Stratford Elks, and Dumas Demons. He enjoyed making spirit bracelets for the teams, veterans, and the ladies in the nursing homes. When he was younger, Glen loved to ride his motorcycle to visit family and friends. Glen had worked as a night watchman for Texas Beef and a jailer for the Moore County Sheriff Dept. Here is where he got his nickname the "Singing Jailer", because he loved to sing and play his guitar. Gentleman Jim would play his songs on the radio. Glen will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Lackey; sons: Joshua Lackey and Dale Korn. Glen is survived by his mother, Daphne Ann Lackey; sisters: Pam Scroggins and husband Roger of Dumas, TX, Brenda Wingo and husband Tom of Sunray, TX, Wynon Martinez of Lubbock, TX; brother: Monte Lackey and wife Donna of Pampa, TX; daughter: Krystal Woodward and husband Casey of Parsons, KS; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
