Glynda Pflug, 84 of Dumas passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Monday, December 23, 2024 at First Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Brown, officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at The Art Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Glynda was born on July 7, 1940, in Pampa, TX to Thomas Vernon and Selma (Symank) Northcott. She married Gerald Pflug on January 29, 1960; he preceded her in death on August 7, 2024. They moved to Dumas in 1964 where they raised their three children. Glynda worked for Moore County News in various titles and ended up as the office manager for many years. She later went to work for the Windows on the Plains Museum where her official title was Chief Financial Officer, however, Glynda did it all. 

While working for Moore County News, Glynda also wrote columns which consisted of the history of Moore County as well as a society column. She was honored in 2000 with the Joyce Dillow award for her preservation of the heritage of Moore County. She served on the Board of Directors for The Art Center and was also very involved in her children’s activities, serving as Cub Scout Den Mother and also in the 4-H. Glynda was also very instrumental in the development of the parks in Dumas and was recognized for her 20 years of service from 1977 ~ 1997. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. 

In addition to her husband, Gerald, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Tommy Northcott; half-sister: Norma L. Thompson.

Glynda is survived by her sons: Rick and wife, Lavonda, of Amarillo and Brian and wife, Lisa of Huntsville, and one daughter, Krista Floyd and husband, Quintin, of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, one brother, Richard “Butch” Northcott and wife Barbara of Canadian, TX. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests with gratitude, memorials be made to First Methodist Church, P.O. Box 395, Dumas, TX or to Window of the Plains Museum, 1820 S Dumas Ave., Dumas, TX 79029.
