Gonzalo "Chalo" Rios

Gonzalo “Chalo” Rios, 75 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Betel Asambleas de Dios with Pastor Luis Trujillo officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Memorial Cemetery in Sunray. Chalo will be available for viewing on Friday from 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock in the evening in the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Chalo was born on January 10, 1948, in Mexico to Juan and Vincent (Ochoa) Rios. He married Consuelo on November 19, 1969, in Mexico, she preceded him in death in 2009.  He recently married Rosenda Loya. He had worked for Sunray Coop and then Dumas Coop as a grain operator until his retirement. Chalo enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  He was also a very social person who loved people and listening to music.  

In adddition to his wife, Consuelo, he was preceded in death by his son: Oscar in 2001; sister: Dolores “Lola” Rios. 

Chalo is survived by his wife, Rosenda, of the home; children: Ruben Rios and wife Ana of Sunray, TX, Gonzalo Israel Rios of Dumas, TX, and Christina Hernandez and husband Manuel of Dumas, TX, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; siblings: Magdalena Ochoa Soto, Jose Rios, Carmen Rios, Sylvia Montoya, Delfina Sanchez, Maria de Refugio Ortega.
