Grady Eugene Truelock

Grady Eugene Truelock, 84, went to be with his Lord, Friday, November 7, 2008 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 10, 2008 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Weightman officiating, assisted by Rev. Dan Martin, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery with flag detail by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Grady Eugene Truelock was born April 17, 1924 in Wills Point, Texas to Sidney J. and Lettie Mae Harrison Truelock. He was the youngest of seven boys. He served in the US Army during WWII battling for control of the Island of Okinawa and was honorably discharged. On July 10, 1943 he married Roberta Hammons. She preceded him in death in July of 2002. Grady worked for Diamond Shamrock for 19 years. He left to pursue his love of ranching and cowboy work until his retirement in 1994. He had been a resident of Moore County since 1953 and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dalhart. He was preceded in death by his six older brothers. Survivors include; son, Danny Truelock and wife, Nancy of El Reno, OK; daughter, Keva Weightman and husband, Richard of Dumas; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends. Memorials may be made to The Paul Martin Bible Publishing Fund Liberty Baptist Church, 12020 US Hwy 87, Dalhart, TX 79022, or Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd , Dumas, TX 79029, or Memorial Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Activity Fund, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 102 Cedar in Dumas.
