Guadalupe Lupito Alvarez, 8 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011. The Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church in Dumas. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church, with Father Maria Joseph Pudhota officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Lupito was born on October 1, 2003 to Jose and Celia Alvarez. He lived in Dumas with his family, and attended school at Lamar Elementary in Amarillo. Lupito was a fun loving and active little boy, who was blessing to his family and all who knew him. He loved going to school. Hie favorite cartoon character was Sponge Bob. He also loved to ride his four wheeler, and dancing. He enjoyed trips to visit his family in Mexico, and he enjoyed going to the ranch and taking care of the cows. Lupito will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gildardo Alvarez. Lupito is survived by his parents, Jose and Ceila Alvarez one sister, Manuela Valles and husband Fransisco of Hennessey, OK two brothers, Gildardo Alvarez and Jeronimo Alvarez, both of Dumas his godparents, Irineo and Ortencia Tarango of Hennessey his grandparents, Cesaria Chaconde Alvarez of Dumas, and Claro and Angelina Ruiz of Mexico his aunts and uncles, Maria and Pedro Hernandez of Dumas, Jose and Olivia Alvarez of Enid, OK, Rafaela and Luz Mendoza of Garden City, KS, Lionel and Josefina Ruiz of Evans, CO, Ricardo and Maria Tarango of Hennessey, OK, Ignacio and Silvia Ruiz of Amarillo, Ramon Ruiz of Mexico, Socorro and Roberto Anchondo of Mexico, Luis and Maria Anchondo of Mexico, Domingo and Lidia Ruiz of Amarillo, and Manuel and Nena Ruiz of Mexico and one niece, Marisol Valles of Hennessey. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the following staff at Lamar Elementary for the loving care and attention Allison Culp, teacher Deborah Goldsmith, transliterator and Paige Sanders, deaf education resource teacher. The family will be at 816 S. Klein Avenue in Dumas.
