Harlice M. McCause, 88, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chad Mantooth, pastor of Temple Baptist Church of Amarillo officiating, assisted by Rev. Rick Korsmo, pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Dumas. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery with flag detail by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Harlice M. McCause was born October 17, 1920 in Durant, Oklahoma to Fletcher and Ella McCause. He served in the US Army from 1940 to 1945 in the 45th Division in Sicily, Southern France, Rome and the Rhineland. On July 17, 1946 he married Ruby Brents in Ada, Oklahoma. He worked for American Zinc before going to work for Phillips Petroleum. He retired as an operator in 1983 after 32 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 224 and a 50 year member of Dumas Masonic Lodge 2009. Harlice made a public profession of faith and was baptized on September 6, 2009. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1946 before moving to Amarillo in May of 2009 and was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Amarillo.
Survivors include; his wife, Ruby of the home; daughter, Jane Harlan and husband Charles of Amarillo, son, Doug McCause and wife Genie of Canyon; sister, Jherea Akard of ODonnell , Tx; grandchildren, Brent Harlan and wife Jacquie, Brian Harlan, Thomas McCause and wife, Katie, Sam McCause and wife, Kayla; great-grandchildren, Chance and Sydney Harlan.
The family suggests memorials be to Temple Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3208 S. Van Buren, Amarillo, and TX 79109.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, September 28, 2009 at Morrison Funeral Directors.
