Harold Edward Greer

Harold Greer, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Dumas Cemetery. Rev. Sam White, pastor of North Plains Christian Church will be officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Harold was born on April 27, 1928 in Hartshorn, Missouri to Claude and Bell Greer. He graduated from high school in Shidler, Oklahoma. He served his country in the US Army. Harold married Billie Clark on March 21, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico. They shared their life together in the Dumas community since 1950. He was employed as a shipping supervisor with Conoco Phillips until his retirement after forty years. Harold was very active. He was a Jack of all trades, and enjoyed carpentry and woodworking projects. He also loved to shoot guns. He was an Endowment Life Member of both NRA and the Texas State Rifle Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 1009 in Dumas. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Clyde Greer. Harold is survived by his wife, Billie of the home two sons, Butch Greer and wife Judy of Amarillo and Mark Greer and wife Sheila of Cypress, Texas one sister, June Rhoten of Amarillo grandchildren, Tammy Marnell and husband Kirk of Midland, Jennifer Valdez and husband Trini of Amarillo, and Jimmy Greer of Fredericksburg and nine greatgrandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029, the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761, or the American Cancer Society, 403 Pear, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 122 Cherry in Dumas.
