Harold Homer Hataway, 82, of Sunray, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Church of Christ in Sunray with Jonathan Zerby officiating. Interment will follow at Lane Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Harold was born on February 4, 1934 to Homer J. and Edith (Hager) Hataway in Sherman County, TX. The family moved to Sunray before his first birthday and he resided there for 82 years. Harold was united in marriage to Annis on January 9, 1953. He was employed at Diamond Shamrock and was a long time member of the Church of Christ. Harold was an arrowhead hunter and enjoyed camping, woodworking and crafts of all kinds. He loved to rebuild old bicycles; he was always tinkering with something. He also built Texas Banks. Harold was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Joe Hataway and Jim Hataway; and son Bruce Hataway.
Harold is survived by his wife: Annis Hataway of the home; sons: Glenn Hataway and wife Shirley of Sunray, TX and Billy Hataway and wife Nancy of Denver, CO; daughter: Treva Hataway of Nocona, TX; brother: Donnie Hataway and wife Wanda of Joplin, MO; sisters: Darlene Keeton and husband Buster of Enid, OK, Colleen Hataway of Rio Rancho, NM, Marlene Irwin and husband Al of Newcastle, OK; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
