Harriet Aldrich

Harriet Aldrich, 85, passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 11, 2009 at First Christian Church with Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor of the church officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Harriet Aldrich was born July 30, 1924 in Montrose, Colorado. On August 26, 1942 she married Sam Aldrich at Montrose. She and her husband opened Aldrichs Menswear in 1963 where she had many jobs helping around the store. Her life centered on all of her grandchildren. She took great pleasure in serving and helping others. Harriet was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1956 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Michael Aldrich on July 1, 1966 and two sisters. Survivors include; her husband Sam of the home; son, Sam Aldrich II and wife Lora of Dumas; grandchildren, Stephanie Griffin and husband, Gary, Jennifer Cockrill and husband, Tony and Lisa Barbosa and husband, John and 11 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Panhandle Chapter, 6222 Canyon Dr, Amarillo, TX 79109 or to the Alzheimers Association, 2200 W. 7th, Amarillo, TX. 79106. The family will be at 208 Bailey in Dumas. BRBR
