Hazel Morris, 80, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 30, at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Hazel was born May 6, 1930 in Clarksville, Texas to Harlen and Annie Whitworth. On March 31, 1984 she married Elmer E. Morris in Dumas, Texas. He preceded her in death July 9, 2006. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. Hazel had lived in Dumas most of her life and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Nichols and 4 brothers.
Survivors include sons, Larry Nichols of Dumas, Paul Nichols and wife, Judy of Mesquite, Alton Nichols of Dumas, Gaylon Griffin of Granbury, Kenneth Morris of Dumas daughters, Wanda Guerra and husband, Ray of San Angelo, Loretta Holland and husband, Robert of Texline, Vickie Siegfried and husband, Mike of Apache Junction, AZ, Marsha Pool and husband, Jimmy, Nelda Hardwick and husband, Guy all of Dumas, Cheryl Weese and husband, Gene of Radcliff, KY, Phyllis Narry and husband, PJ of Arlington brothers, William Whitworth of Detroit, TX, Tilmon Whitworth of Broken Bow, Okla, Jerry Whitworth of Paris, Randall Whitworth of Hattiesburg, MS, Vernon Whitworth of Sherman sisters, Frances Cauvey and Shirley Prater of Durant, Okla, Dorothy Woolridge of Sherman 45 grandchildren, 80 greatgrandchildren and 14 greatgreatgrandchildren.
The family will be at 214 N. Meredith in Dumas.
