Helen Brandon 83 passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at
2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Beth Harrington, pastor of the church officiating, assisted by former pastor Rev. John Wagoner. Burial will be at Lane Memorial Cemetery Sunray, Texas.
Helen Brandon was born April 30, 1923 in Chillicothe, Texas. She married Jesse Huell Brandon in Acme, Texas on June 1, 1941. She had lived in the Texas Panhandle since 1946 moving to Dumas in 1965 and was a long time member of First United Methodist Church. Helen was an English and Language Arts teacher retiring from Hillcrest School in 1984. In their 65 years of marriage, Helen and Jess traveled all over the United States, Canada and parts of Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, R.B.Trolinder in 1992; two sons; Jerry Brandon in 1988 and Loyd Brandon in 1997 and granddaughter, Gloria Brandon in 1966.
Survivors are; her husband Jesse of the home; son, Gene Brandon and wife Pat of Dumas; four sisters, Dell Beadle of Amarillo, Neva Eudy of Beaver, OK., Faye Turvaville of Childress and Ruby Lafollette of Highview, WV; one brother Lawrence Trolinder of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will be at 501 Cherry.
