Helen Winnifred Lamb, 80 of Sunray, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas, Texas. Interment will follow at Brown Memorial Cemetery in Sunray. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home in Dumas. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Helen was born on July 15, 1941, in Wolco, OK (Osage County) to Lon and Ruth (DeVerse) Trask. Helen met Jimmy (Cotton) Lamb in Skellytown, Texas, at his gas station that he owned and operated. They married on January 31, 1963 and moved to Sunray in 1964 where they made their home and raised their children.
Helen graduated from Beauty School in 1957 and worked as a Hairdresser in Borger, TX, after moving to Sunray she worked at “In Fashions” dress shop for many years. She enjoyed sewing, fun shopping trips, reading, camping, playing cards & games with friends & family. Helen was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Sunray Senior Citizens and Sunray Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Leon (Jr.) Trask, William (Bill) Trask, Juanita Russell and Blanche Trask.
Helen is survived by her husband, Jimmy (Cotton) of the home; daughter: Shannon Skaley and husband Byron of El Reno, OK; sons: Michael Lamb and wife Kristi of Roman Forest, TX, Melvin Lamb and wife Ellie of Searcy, AR; grandchildren: Tiffany, Matthew, Kyle, Kaleb, Kamiryn, Hannah, Maddie and Emma; 12 great-grandchildren.
