Herman R. Casteel

Herman R. Casteel 86 passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 in Amarillo, TX. Services will held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 5, 2007 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Orden Hartley, pastor of First Baptist Church, Felt, OK, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Flag detail by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas. Herman R. Casteel was born December 21, 1920, in Earlsboro, Oklahoma to Arthur R. and Lillie Casteel. He served in the US Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945. On June 10, 1950 he married Lillis Boots Wallace who preceded him in death on August 13, 2006. He was owneroperator of Casteel Drilling Co. from 1954 until his retirement in 1992. Herman was a former resident of Borger from 1950 to 1964. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1964 and was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include; daughter, Shirley Camilli and husband, George of Boise City, OK; son, Ralph Casteel and wife Maria Louisa of Tijuana, Mexico; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren Memorials may be made to BSA Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, TX or Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029.
