Hilario "Lalo" Loya, 89 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. The rosary will be recited at 6 oclock in the evening on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Morrison Memorial Chapel. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 oclock in the morning on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Garcia as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors.
Hilario was born on March 4, 1930 in Lyford, TX. He married Victoriana on August 16, 1948 in Cody, Wyoming, the couple would move to Dumas where they would make their home and raise their family. Hilario had worked for Dekalb, Texas Concrete and for Jack Oldham Oil. He was a very outgoing man who never met a stranger. He was a jokester and a very ornery man who would always tell his family "be careless" as they left. He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Ray Loya; daughter: Trini Flores; grandson: Robby Gutierrez; great great grandson: Aiden; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Victoriana, of the home; daughters: Mary Bernal and husband Art of Dumas, TX. Lydia Flores of Dallas, TX, Amanda Castillo and husband Pedro of Dallas, TX and Shannon Pena and husband Rudy of Dumas, TX; 15 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
