Howard Wayne Colston, 77 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Life Tabernacle with Pastor Mark Wallis, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Howard was born on January 8, 1938 in Yuma, AZ to John and Katherine (Brewer) Colston. He was united in marriage to Alta Reed on October 13, 1956 in Dumas; she preceded him in death. Howard had special bond with horses, which he enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren. He was a longtime resident of Dumas and was a member of Life Tabernacle Church. Howard will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Alta, he is preceded in death by a son: Allen Colton; a great-granddaughter: Madison Kelly; a sister: Betty Norrid; a brother: Donald Colston.
Howard is survived by a daughter: Terri George and husband Joe of Dumas; grandchildren: Joseph George of Austin, Laura Wilson and husband Zack of Amarillo, Elizabeth Mullins and husband Mike of Amarillo, Amber Henry and husband Rob of Borger, and Justin Colston and wife Ashley of Amarillo; two brothers: James Colston of Dumas and Johnny Colston of Three Rivers; two sisters: Connie Harbert of Dumas and Ann Baker of Hewitt; seven great-grandchildren.
