Humberto Salinas, 77 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Garcia as celebrant. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o'clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Humberto was born March 21, 1938 in Guadalupe Victoria, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose and Tomasa Salinas. On July 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Velia Mares in Chihuahua, Mexico; she preceded him in death on August 3, 1992. Humberto was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Humberto was a longtime resident of Dumas and had worked for Monfort for over 23 years. He enjoyed boxing, horse races, but especially loved baseball. Humberto was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He who will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
In addition to his wife Velia, he is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson: Andrew Derrick; and five brother and three sisters.
Humberto is survived by his sons: Julio Salinas and wife Sallie of Lubbock, Humberto Salinas, Jr. and wife Kim, and Oscar Salinas and wife Karla all of Dumas; daughters: Patricia Delgado and husband Raul and Sandra Perez and husband Elias all of Dumas, Michelle Jarrett and husband James of Canyon, Naomi Juanes and husband Eloy of Plainview; eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
