Irene Bayless

Irene Boopsie Bayless 79 passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Bethel Assembly of God Church with Rev. H.L. Stevens, long time family friend and retired minister officiating, assisted by Rev. Josh and Laura Morris, co-pastors of the church. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Irene Boopsie was born January 18, 1929 in Perkins, Oklahoma to John and Leona Black. On March 31, 1946 she married John W. Bayless in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The couple just celebrated their 62nd anniversary. She loved to cook, fish, the mountains, God, her church, and doing for others. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1952 and was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Billy and Doyle Black, son-in-law Gary Cummins and grandson, Michael Cummins. Survivors include; her husband, John of the home; sons, Steve Bayless of Dumas and James Bayless and wife, Pat of Arlington, TX; daughter, Sharon Cummins of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren, Vicki Lopez and husband, Jesus of Pueblo, CO, Randall Cummins and wife Molly of Cimarron, KS, Pam Simpson, Julie Byrd and husband Forrest all of Azle, TX, Marshall Bayless and wife Suzanne of Grand Prairie, TX, Kathy Baron and husband, James of Wylie, TX; great-grandchildren, Ally, Jennifer, Nicki, Savannah, Aubriana, Jesse Michael, Punky and Wesley; sisters-in-law, Elaine Black of Perkins,OK, Daisy Nicholson of Wichita,KS, Eva Hornbaker of Boston, MA; brother, Clyde Black and wife Loretta of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Memorials may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Church, 500 N. Meredith, Dumas, TX. 79029. The family will be at 521 Spruce in Dumas.
