Irene Isabel Garcia formerly of Dumas passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Deacon Joe Schwertner officiating. A Rosary will be recited Friday at 6 o'clock in the evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Irene was born August 5, 1943 to Pedro and Seferina (Fernandez) Archuleta in Springer, NM. Irene graduated from high school in Clayton, NM and married Felix Garcia on August 16, 1965. She was a member of Eagles' Lodge and the VFW Auxiliary where she was an avid bingo player and caller. Irene was a member of the Red Hat Society in Dumas and she enjoyed being with her friends and taking care of her grandchildren and her pets. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Felix; a son: Freddie, two sisters: Betty Wiggins and Josie Gonzales and two brothers: Tony Archuleta and Pete Archuleta. Irene is survived by her son Tommy Garcia of Amarillo; sisters: Mary Archuleta of Edgewood, NM and Rosalie 'Rosie' Pena of Dumas, TX; brothers: Steve Archuleta of Albuquerque, NM and Joe Archuleta of Los Alamos, NM; two grandchildren: son-in-law: Stacy David. The family suggests memorial be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, PO Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502.
