Irvin J. Gerstenkorn

Irvin J. Gerstenkorn, 70 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 o' clock in the morning on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Garcia officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 o' clock in the evening on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Irvin was born on June 22, 1945 to Hubert Leo and Mary Rose (Oborny) Gerstenkorn in Hoisington, KS. He was a part of the community since 1981. Irvin was a member of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed umpiring baseball games, fishing and camping. Irvin loved his family dearly and cherished every moment he had to spend with them. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father. Irvin is survived by three children: Kevin Gerstenkorn and wife Sherri of Blue Ridge, TX, Brandy Banks and husband Chad of Piedmont, OK, and Kristen Packebush and husband Johnny of Dumas; three grandchildren: Bailey, Tyler and Nolan Banks all of Piedmont, OK; two sisters: Joyce Winslow of California and Sally Bentley of Oak Park, CA; and two brothers: Marvin Gerstenkorn and wife Suzanne of Sandwich, MA and Dave Gerstenkorn and wife Lynn of Liberal, KS and his mother of Great Bend. The family suggest memorials be to Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church Building Fund, 900 Bruce Ave., Dumas, TX 79029.
