J. D. Watson

J.D. Watson, 91, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2008 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Sixth and Meredith Church of Christ with Jerry Vinson, minister of the church officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. J.D. Watson was born November 2, 1916 in Jackson County, Oklahoma to Morris T. and Maude Jane Watson. He served in the US Army during WWII and was an operator at Continental Carbon until his retirement. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1946 and was a member of Sixth and Meredith Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Travis and Joe Watson and sisters, Lorene Holmes, Deanie Anglin, Maurine Nix and Birtrude Holmes. Several nieces and nephews including Bill Holmes and wife, Phyllis of Dumas survive and a special friend June Ridley of Dumas.
