Jack Hugh Mills 81 passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 in Dumas,Texas. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor of First Christian Church officiating. Flag Detail by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas. Jack was born May 10, 1926 in Dumas, Texas to Johnny V. and Pearl Mills. He was a graduate of Dumas High School with the class of 1943. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the Admiral's Flag Ship as a radio-man. On August 26, 1946 he married Naomi Ruth Boots Hilton in Dumas. Jack was a farmer and had served as a county commissioner. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a longtime deacon. He loved and supported the youth program and was a soundman at the church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Survivors include: his wife, Naomi Ruth Boots Mills of the home; two sons, Danny Mills and wife, Mary Susan of Cary, NC; Paul Mills and wife Cathy of Franklin, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Melissa, Pamela, David, Joanna and Riley. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 309 Mills in Dumas.
