Jacquline Jackie Watkins VanDyke, 54 formerly of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 19, 2012 at First Assembly of God in Dumas. Rev. Jack Cornell will be officiating, assisted by Rev. Damon Akins. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Jackie was born on October 20, 1957 in Perryton, Texas to Bill and Iris Cornell. She grew up in Perryton and graduated from Perryton High School. She went on to attend the Apostolic Faith Bible College in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Jackie was united in marriage to Edgar Butch Watkins on May 18, 1978. Together, they had two sons, Lance Watkins and Presley Watkins. Butch preceded Jackie in death on August 19, 2007. She later married Bill VanDyke on May 22, 2010. Jackie gave her heart to the Lord at an early age. She always tried to give the Lord first place in her life. She was active in church throughout her lifetime. At the time of her death, she was employed as church secretary for Southlawn Baptist Church in Amarillo. Jackie loved her family, and she loved doing things for others. She had a wealth of friends and was well known for her gentle, sweet spirit. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Cornell her youngest sister, Yvonna Mallett and her first husband, Butch Watkins. Jackie is survived by her husband Bill VanDyke of Amarillo two sons, Lance Watkins and Presley Watkins, both of Amarillo stepchildren, Betty Jo VanDyke and Krista Ruth VanDyke her mother, Iris Cornell of Amarillo one sister, Rhonda Price and husband Jeff of Canyon and numerous other relatives and friends.
