James Henry Bradley, 87 of Dumas passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Wylie, pastor of the church officiating. A Private family graveside will be held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
James Henry Bradley was born on February 27, 1929 in Amarillo, TX to George William Bradley and Adylene Ingerton Bradley. He married Marilene Burnett on December 23, 1950; she preceded him in death on January 8, 1999. James married Wanna Beth Raper Hanna on December 11, 2005; she preceded him in death on August 26, 2007. On July 25, 2010, he married Jan McBee.
He graduated from Stratford High School in 1947 and from Texas Tech University in 1951 with a degree in Animal Husbandry. He was a member of the Saddle Tramps, the fraternity of PHI Gamma Delta, and a member of the Order of the Gold Owl. James also proudly served in US Marines during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1954.
James retired in December 1992 from the USDA and went on to retire from farming in October 2015. He farmed in Sherman, Dallam and Moore Counties.
In addition to his wives: Marilene and Wanna Beth he is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law: Charles Beck.
James is survived by his wife Jan of the home; two sons: Kerry Bradley and wife Debbie of Amarillo, Savoy Bradley and Shawna of Stratford; two daughters: Carla Kirchner and Marla Moen both of Big Timber , MT; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Beck of Amarillo and Ann Burton and husband Dorland of Stratford; brother-in-law: Pete Henderson and wife Anita of Midland.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd , Dumas, TX 79029 or favorite charity.
