James Garang

James Garang, 42 of Cactus, passed away on December 5, 2022. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with pastor Kor Chakud officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

James Garang was born on January 1, 1980, in South Sudan to Garang Bup Magot and Akoi Manyol.  He became a lost boy at a very young age, having to find his way in Ethiopia. With war conditions in Ethiopia, James would go out to a refugee camp in the country of Kenya. Having a positive attitude James could make friends with just about anyone. On the soccer pitch, he was considered by many the best soccer player ever and was known for his jersey number 9. In the year 2000, James came to America to work and be able to provide. After moving from Arizona to San Diego, California, James would finally settle in Cactus where he spent his remaining years. James was a very intelligent individual who had a good sense of humor, his hard work and dedication set him apart and was a person of strong faith. James will be missed by his friends and all who knew him.
