James Elton 'Huck' Lowrey, 89 of Hartley, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, March 28, 2016 in Hartley Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Huck was born September 6, 1926 in Hartley TX, to J.C. 'Auggie' and Marie (Lawrence) Lowrey. He was united in marriage to Helen Batis on April 15, 1957 in Clayton NM, she preceded him in death. Huck proudly served his country in the United States Army. Huck loved to play the lottery, garden, hunt and watch the Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right. He was of Baptist Faith.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Eva Ritter and Carrie Juanice Stewart.
Huck is survived by his four daughters: Bonnie Sue Price of Dalhart, Tammy Stewart and husband Ralph of Channing, Connie June Thompson and husband Roy Gene of Dalhart, and April Reyna and husband Israel of Lockney; sister Bobbie Marie Howell of Dalhart; his loving dog Sally; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
