James Douglas Muir

James \x93Red\x94 Douglas Muir, 74 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015. A private memorial service is scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Red was born June 24, 1940 in Clay, KY to Clifton and Anna (Johnson) Muir. He married Arta Marie August 7, 1965 in Clayton, NM. Red was a long time truck driver, hauling cattle and grain most of his life. He enjoyed John Wayne movies, listening to classic country music and having breakfast with friends every morning at Albert\x92s Manor. Red was preceded in death by wife Arta and his parents Clifton & Anna Muir. He is survived by one daughter: Sharon Chacaj and husband Rickie of Garland, TX; and one son: Jimmy Muir and wife Carrie of Amarillo. He also left behind five grandchildren: Ericka and Mitchell of Garland, TX; T.K., Ryan & Berklee, all of Amarillo. The family requests memorials be made to The Alzheimer's Association in honor of his beloved wife, the late Arta Marie Muir.
