Jean Cummins, 95 of Dumas, passed away early Thursday, June 24, 2021. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 o’clock at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Laquita Jones, pastor of the church, officiating, assisted by Pastor Anthony Inman. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.Jean was born March 27, 1926, in Arlie, TX to Joseph and Emily (Campbell) Teaque. She married Shirley Vern Cummins, June 25, 1945, he preceded her in death in 2005. They made Dumas their home since 1951. Along with being a loving housewife Jean enjoyed working in this community serving many positions at the United Methodist Church as well as a bookkeeper for Cactus Feeders and working for many years at the Moore County Clerks office. Jean was a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #9002, Dumas Senior Center, also since 1968, she was a member of TOPS TX95. Jean had an incredible sense of humor and seemed to have a knack of turning any negative into a positive. Jean loved her family dearly. While learning the computer, she completed her autobiography as well as her husband Vern’s biography. Jean was a master quilter and happily enjoyed volunteering her skills at the senior center. Some of her favorite activities included her church where she attended many mission trips helping build churches in impoverished areas. She also enjoyed needleworking and gardening. In addition to her husband, Vern, Jean is preceded in death by her son, Travis Lee, her daughter, Shirley Jean, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, and several brothers and sisters in law. She is survived by son: Ronald Allen Cummins and wife Bobbi, of Mustang, OK; grandchildren: Carissa and Dusty Russell of Mustang, OK, Jacinda and Chad Hantak of Yukon, OK, Shaina and Matt Penland of Mustang, OK, Caitlin Cummins of Wichita Falls, TX,; great-grandchildren: Justin and Jaina Penland of Mustang, OK, Caedmon Ricks, Clara Ricks, and Clyde Hantak all of Yukon, OK, Emma Russell and William Russell of Mustang, OK, Lily Cummins, Luke Baker, and Layton Baker all of Wichita Falls, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and other family that she loved dearly.
